On the weekend of September 8th-9th, Skate Canada - Central Ontario, 27 stakeholders and volunteers

Focusing on excellence in four areas - Athlete Development, Partner Development, Human Resource Development and Resource Development - areas were explored about what COS does well, what needs improvement and what we can do to meet our potential.

After 18 hours of discussion and soul searching the following six priorities were identified:

Under Partner Development, COS will target additional sponsors and develop a Marketing Advisory Committee. Regarding Athlete Development, COS will further develop a Talent ID program for our skaters as well as place further emphasis on the STARSkate program. Under Organization Development, COS will explore avenues to increase the efficiency of the current office structure to meet the needs of all stakeholders which will include an examination of future IT requirements. Finally, under the Human Resources model, there will be an increase in the recruitment of officials.

COS wishes to thank all of the volunteers, officials, skaters and coaches who took the time to complete the on-line pre-session survey. Your input was greatly appreciated and gave the planning group greater insight.
