The Continuous Education Program (CEP) is a Skate Canada program that
recognizes a coach’s dedication to professional development in our sport.
Coaches earn credits for attending and participating in various events and
educational opportunities within a two (2) year cycle. The credits can be earned
for a variety of activities including but not limited to: club administration work,
attending a seminar at the club, section, nation or international level, providing
a parent information session, mentoring or being mentored, completing relevant
university or college courses, attending the National Coaches’ Conference,
providing PA training, etc.

Participating in the CEP shows your athletes, clubs and colleagues that you are
dedicated to the sport and to continuing your education and growth within the
sport of figure skating.

A professional coach may be recognized at one of three status levels based on
the number of credits gathered in the two-year cycle (September 1, 2012 –
June 30, 2014). Coaches have 22 months to gather credits. The minimum
number of credits required to attain each status level are as follows:
Gold 70 Credits
Silver 40 Credits
Bronze 15 Credits
